ATTN: COLUMBIA COUNTY TEACHERS!, October 3, 2022

May contain: advertisement and poster

The Columbia Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is teaming up with local educators to bring more fun, engaging, and thought-provoking environmental education into our local schools and classrooms through ready-to-use "lesson boxes" from the award-winning and widely used "Project Learning Tree: PreK-8 Activity Guide" and "Aquatic Wild".

Lesson boxes include the activity guide, all materials needed, and a sheet listing the national standards the lesson satisfies for each grade. Lessons are reusable and stay at the school to be used again each year.

PAST FEEDBACK:

“This was wonderful! The prep was easy as all the supplies needed were in the box. The book that was included was great in that the kids were able to read it with me! The directions were easy to follow and the best part, the kids loved it! They were so engaged throughout the whole lesson. They were extra excited to explore the schoolyard and use their tools. Many students after finding a worm or something were so excited to share the news with their classmates and me. Not once did I hear anything like, ewwww or gross, all I kept hearing was, "wow, how cool." Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share this with the class. We are all so excited to start the next activity box!” – Teacher at Yankton Arthur Academy

“I thought all of the lessons were thoughtfully prepared and my 3rd grade students enjoyed them. I especially liked the movement aspects and the use of manipulatives that were integrated into the lessons.” – Teacher at Clatskanie Elementary

“I received them (activity boxes) and teachers are excited!” – Vernonia elementary principal
