COME VISIT WITH US AT THE COLUMBIA COUNTY FAIR! June 14, 2022

The Columbia Soil and Water Conservation District will be joined by the National Resource Conservation Service, Scappoose Bay Watershed Council, Upper Nehalem Watershed Council, and Lower Columbia Watershed Council at the Columbia County Fair July 20 – 24, 2022.

Learn more about all of our conservation efforts throughout the county such as:

o   Water quality

o   Noxious weeds and their management

o   Assistance with small grants

o   Sustainable farming and forestry practices

o   Restoration projects to enhance Pacific Lamprey and salmon passage

CSWCD and NRCS are also launching a series of Volunteer Opportunities that we will promote during the Columbia County Fair

o   You will learn about pollinators and their habitats while you help us create small meadows and hedgerows at selected areas along the Crown-Zellerbach Trail

o   Celebrate farms by helping create and assist during tours

o   Provide educational outreach for adults and children

o   Participate in the planning efforts to identify new unexplored opportunities for volunteers

o   Learn how to volunteer as an Associate Director

The county’s three watershed councils will also have information about their volunteer opportunities in areas such as propagating native plants, outreach, and participating in habitat restoration.
